British born entrepreneur James Harford-Tyrer is Founder & CEO of Cudoni, the premium resale service for pre-loved luxury goods. Cudoni offers a unique resale service for items including luxury fashion, accessories and technology. Initially a luxury private sales offering, James’ tenacity saw the business quickly outgrow its original positioning within just one year and evolve into a serious contender within the pre-owned luxury goods market.
We caught up with James for the latest in our ‘My London’ interview series.
Favourite neighbourhood:
Kensington, for sure. It’s great for eating and shopping, and there are some interesting spots, like the iconic Hyde Park, nearby.
Favourite place for brunch:
Duck and Waffle at Heron Tower has the best brunch menu in the city. I typically go for the Duck Benedict, but have been known to enjoy an Autumn Elvis when craving something sweeter.
Best coffee in London:
Ozone Coffee near Old Street, hands down. It’s all about the experience. Not only is the coffee excellent, you can overlook the roasting process whilst you drink it.
Favourite gallery or museum:
The Victoria and Albert Museum is an incredible piece of architecture, and there is always so much relevant to our business happening there. I wish I had bandwidth to go more often, but you’ll always find someone from the Cudoni team there.
Tell us a secret:
Open the fridge door at the Breakfast Club near Liverpool Street station.
Favourite place to shop:
I mostly shop online, but when I am out in the city, Selfridges on Oxford Street is a favourite.
Favourite place to find inspiration:
Anywhere with a view. There’s something special about relaxing with a drink overlooking the world.
Best London destination for a date:
The Sky Garden has everything for a date – amazing 360 degree city views, top cuisine and the perfect atmosphere.
Favourite park:
Richmond Park. Where else can you walk alongside deer in London?
Favourite food market:
Harrods Food Hall if you’re looking for that something extra special, or Borough Market if looking for something a little more laid back.
Your sanctuary in the city:
Chelsea Creek Gym and Spa. There is nothing better than a clear mind.
What inspires you?
I love hearing about others’ success stories; particularly those who have had to overcome tough circumstances to achieve what they have. It’s so refreshing learning from people who never gave up in pursuit of their dreams.
